ISBM 2025 Election
The ISBM 2025 election is just around the corner, and we have some exciting board positions available! To keep our leadership vibrant and effective, it’s important that we gather a diverse and talented group of candidates from every corner of the ISBM community worldwide.
ISBM’s strength and dynamism depend directly on its member societies. To keep benefiting from the engaging discussions and services offered by this vibrant international community in behavioral medicine, we must commit to a collective effort. We invite the brilliant minds and active contributors from our member societies to play a role in advancing behavioral medicine on a global scale.
We need every ISBM Governing Council national society to find good candidates to nominate. We seek individuals eager to promote behavioral medicine within global clinical and academic spheres.
We’re looking for enthusiastic individuals who are ready to dive into strategizing on our communication initiatives in behavioral medicine. Together, we can strengthen our membership within national societies and explore new initiatives for collaboration. If you’re passionate about making a difference in international health policy work within this field, we’d love to have you on board! Additionally, we need someone dedicated to caring for our treasures and crafting solid financial strategies for our society.
We are convinced that every membership society can contribute qualified suggestions for candidates to fill the offices in the Board that will be open for election in 2025. Keep in mind that we seek to achieve balance in terms of gender, race/ethnicity, age, professional experience, geographical distribution, and scientific discipline, which makes it even more crucial that every member of society contributes candidates.
The Nominations Committee‘s role involves soliciting at least two candidates for each vacant position and creating a nominee list to be shared before the virtual election. The upcoming elections are set for May 2025 in anticipation of our 18th ICBM meeting in August 2025.
Open Board Positions
The following positions on the ISBM Board will be available for election in 2025. Please note that the term will commence immediately after ICBM 2025.
- ISBM President-Elect (length of term: 2 years)
- ISBM Treasurer (length of term: 4 years)
- ISBM Finance Committee Chair (length of term: 4 years)
- ISBM Communications Committee Chair (length of term: 4 years)
- ISBM Membership Committee Chair (length of term: 4 years)
We encourage ISBM member societies to submit nominees for every open position. Please note that the nomination deadline is April 2nd, 2025.
Nomination Guidelines
Nominations must be submitted by Full Member Societies of ISBM per the following guidelines:
- Member societies can nominate any individual in any full-member society.
- Nominations should include a CV and a statement of what the nominee wants to achieve during their term. Please note that the length of your CV should not exceed 2 pages.
- Full Member Societies must check that the potential nominee is willing to be nominated.
- The deadline for nominating is April 2nd, 2025. Please send your nominations to the ISBM Secretary, Maria Kleinstäuber (maria.kleinstaeuber@usu.edu).
Upon receiving your nominations, the ISBM Nominations Committee will create a list of no fewer than two candidates for each open position for 2025, which will then be announced for online voting.
When recommending and selecting nominees for election, remember that we aim to balance gender, race/ethnicity, age, professional experience, geographic distribution, and scientific discipline.
