We are pleased to announce a call for nominations for Scientific and Service Awards. Awards will be presented at the opening ceremony of our International Congress of Behavioral Medicine (ICBM2027) in Singapore on Wednesday, July 28th, 2027.
Awards Overview
Scientific awards recognize scientific merits and academic accomplishment relative at three different
scientific career stages. Within each stage individuals are recognized for their scientific merits.
- Lifetime Achievement Award
- Distinguished Scientist Award
- Outstanding New Investigator Award
Service awards recognize excellence in achievements and contributions to the development of the field
of behavioral medicine. Awards recognize contributions at national/regional levels, or contributions to
international collaboration.
- Distinguished Career Contribution Award
- Contributions to International Collaborations Award
Scientific Awards
Lifetime Achievement Award
This award recognizes substantial contributions to behavioral medicine over the whole of a career. Recipients are honored for distinguished scholarly contributions to the science of behavioral medicine across a sustained and productive career.
Distinguished Scientist Award
This award recognizes distinguished theoretical or empirical contributions to behavioral medicine. Recipients have made several outstanding contributions to the science of behavioral medicine.
Outstanding New Investigator Award
This award recognizes an outstanding contribution by a new investigator to the science of behavioral medicine. Recipients have made a specific, outstanding contribution to the science of behavioral medicine, and are more experienced than those who apply for the Early Career Award.
Service Awards
Distinguished Career Contribution Award
This award recognizes a distinguished career as a leader in the field of behavioral medicine. Recipients have made distinguished contributions at national or regional level to the development of behavioral medicine – whether as a clinical field, in public health and health promotion, in teaching, or in mentoring.
Contributions to International Collaborations Award
This award recognizes important contributions to facilitating international collaboration in the field of behavioral medicine. Recipients have made distinguished contributions to facilitate collaboration between ISBM member societies, or between ISBM and organizations outside ISBM.
Nomination Process
Award nominations are submitted by ISBM Member Societies and should include:
- Letter of nomination from an ISBM Member Society (2 pages max)*
- Curriculum vitae (including contact information of the nominess)
ISBM Member Societies should submit their award nominations to the ISBM Awards and Honors Committee Chair, Kerry Sherman (kerry.sherman@mq.edu.au) by November 1, 2026
