The European Health Psychology Society (EHPS) is currently accepting applications for the second EHPS Winter School: “Health Psychology in the Age of Social Media”.
This winter school will delve into the realm of health psychological research on social media, covering diverse topics such as data donation, neuroimaging research, and mental health and well-being.
The in-person Winter School is organized in collaboration with the Amsterdam Center for Health Communication and will therefore take place in Amsterdam. The event will take place on 28 & 29 February 2024 and will be facilitated by Eline Smit (University of Amsterdam) and Thomas Gültzow (Open University of the Netherlands), respectively the former and current chair of the EHPS Special Interest Group on Digital Health and Computer-Tailoring.
Aim of the Winter School
Throughout this two-day event, we will explore health psychological research on social media, placing a special emphasis on diverse methodologies. These approaches encompass content analysis and data donation, as well as the measurement of antecedents and effects of social media use through neuroimaging and self-report methodologies.
Who is the Winter School for?
The Winter School is for anyone interested in health psychological research on social media, including people who have just started dipping their toes in the water (e.g., PhD students) and those with substantial experience (e.g., post-docs to professors).
During the two-day Winter School, there will be opportunity to form new working groups to discuss ideas, in addition to interactive workshops to provide and receive feedback on ongoing research. There will be a mix between didactic content (including some guest talks from delegates), discussion, collaborative working, and networking.
